DAY 01 / BEIJING
Meet upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. Beijing, China's political capital and cultural heart is over 3,000 years old and is the second largest city and fastest growing municipality in China.
DAY 02 / BEIJING (B, L)
You will begin the exploration of China by visiting the famous Great Wall. Constructed some 2,300 years ago and extending over 3,500 miles, it was one of the few landmarks on earth clearly viewed by the astronauts. Continue your tour to visit the Ming Tombs where the emperors and their consorts were laid to rest. The tomb feature a display of jewelry and regalia numbering 3000 pieces. We are welcomed to China with a traditional Peking duck dinner this evening followed by the Peking Opera Show.
DAY 03 / BEIJING (B, L)
Today, you will visit the Imperial Palace also known as The Forbidden City. The 250 acre palace was the residence of former emperors with entry forbidden to all commoners. After lunch, you will proceed to The Temple of Heaven, a masterpiece of 15th century architecture, built according to the most advanced principles of mechanics and geometry available at time.
DAY 04 / BEIJING / GUIYANG (B, L)
Before you leave the Capital of China, we would like to introduce you to the local way of life by visiting Hutongs with a trishaw ride. Hutongs mean narrow lanes which form the residential areas for ordinary people living in the capital. These lanes exhibit the history and culture of the city and each lane tells a story. We will proceed to Tien An Men Square, the gate of heavenly peace. This is the largest public square in the world and was built in 1651. After lunch, you will be transferred to the Beijing Capital airport for Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province.
DAY 05 / GUIYANG / KALI (B,L)
Today you will be driven through the beautiful countryside with its terraced hillsides and quaint towns on your way to Kali, center of the Miao silver culture in Eastern Guizhou. We will make a side trip enroute to the Miao village of Gaoyuan. Arrive Kali in the late afternoon.
DAY 06 / LANGDE (B,L)
This morning visit the "silk felt" Miao village. You will be fascinated by the distinctive costumes with enormous ceremonial headdress worn by the Miao women. See the wonderful rituals, dances and music of the Miao people. In the afternoon we go to Langde, a "buffalo" Miao village. Langde's welcome is "la piece de resistance". This is the village with the meter-wide "silver buffalo horn" headdresses !
DAY 07 / PINGLIANG (B,L)
Drive to Pingliang village where we will board a traditional wooden "oar- boat" for the scenic silent trip through the rocky gorge of the Chongan River to the town of Chonganjiang.afternoon is free for indipendent activities. The Inn here is privately owned and utterly delightful though still very basic.
DAY 08 / PINGLIANG (B,L)
The valley floor in this region are occupied by the "shiny cloth" Miao, while the slopes are home to the Ge minority. We will climb up to the Ge Village of Wanba to visit its indigo batik artists, considered to be the best in China. Descend down to the Miao villages of Tiantang.
DAY 09 / KALI / GUIYANG (B,L)
Leave early morning for your trip back to Guiyang. As you travel the back roads, take in the beautiful vistas provided by the mountains and valleys. Eat lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive Guiyang in the early evening.
DAY 10 / GUIYANG / GUILIN (B,L)
Fly to Guilin in the morning. Guilin is considered to be the most the beautiful scenic city. Visit the Reed Flute Cave to see huge natural stalactites in the form of pillars and flowers. Stop at Fubo Hill for a panoramic view of Guilin.
DAY 11 / GUILIN (B,L)
Enjoy a relaxing boat trip on Li River downstream to Yanshuo, a town that boasts one of the area's most colorful local market.
DAY 12 / GUILIN DEPARTURE (B)
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
