DAY 01 / KUNMING ARRIVAL (D)

Meet upon arrival in Kunming and transfer to your hotel. Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, is a subtropical city often termed as "The City of Eternal Spring" because of its temperate weather and perpetually blooming flowers. With a history of over 2,000 years, Kunming is rich in history including that of the "Burma Road" World War ll fame where the US Air Force's "Flying Tigers" were based. Kunming is rich in colorful ethnic minority groups and home of the Institute for Nationalities. Twenty two of China's minority ethnic groups live In Yunnan Province !

DAY 02 / STONE FOREST (B, L, D)

The Stone Forest, one of China's most remarkable natural phenomena is located 98 kms southwest of Kunming. It consists of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 270 million years ago. With her multifarious spectacles, the Stone Forest has won itself the Universal Eu Gy as "The Peerless Scenic Wonder Under the Sun". The Stone Forest area is home of the Sani Minority, a branch of the Yi Tribe (reputed for their diligence, valor, wisdom, exquisite embroidery and melodious songs and graceful dances) who also offer cultural performances nightly. DAY 03 / KUNMING/LIJIANG (B, L, D)

Early morning, start a 40-minute drive on good road (30kms) to the Western Hills followed by a 10 minute chairlift ride up the hill, a very quiet, pleasant journey through beautiful scenery overlooking the vast (25 kms long) Dianshi Lake. From the chairlift station at 2,200 meters above sea level a path winds down to the famous "Dragon Gate" hewn out of the rocky cliff overlooking the Lake, a 300 meters straight below. At the entrance of the Western Hills, visit the Chinese Mahayana Buddhist Tad Hua Temple, an interesting site with many wooden Buddha statues covered with gold paint. Late afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Lijiang. Meet upon arrival and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 04 / LIJIANG (B, L, D)

Drive 99 kms (3 hrs) to the world-famous grand canyon Tiger Leaping Gorge which is one of the deepest canyons of the world. See the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and its maritime glacier. Continue onto Shigu, to visit the miraculous First Bend of the Yangtze River.

DAY 05 / LIJIANG/DALI (B, L, D)

Sightseeing tour of the Old Town of Lijiang which is regarded as the "Oriental Venice", unsophisticated and picturesque. Visit Baoshan Stone Town where people live in houses made of stones and use tables, beds, grinders all drilled out of rocks, the Yuquan Park (Jade Fountain) also called "The Black Dragon Pond" renowned for its over 500 kinds of flowers-Ten-Thousand-flower-Camellia that is referred to as the " King of Earthly Camellias" and various famous pavilions, such as Longshen Pavilion, Deyue Pavilion and Wufeng or Fayon Pavilion.

DAY 06 / DALI (B, L, D)

Enjoy the most beautiful scenery and cruise on Erhai Lake also known as Yeyu Pond, one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. Visit the honorable age-old Three Pagoda, symbols of outstanding architectural technology, the wisdom of the ancient laboring people and the brilliant culture of Dali. Visit Butterflies Fountain where hundreds of species of butterflies, different in size and color, flutter around, the Xizhou (Bai) Village, the former military fortress of Nankzhao Kingdom, the old town and the Shapin Market.

DAY 07 / DALI/XISHUANGBANNA (B, L, D)

Depart Dali for Jinghong via Kunming by air. Balance of the evening at leisure to explore Jinghong, the capital, on your own. Xishuangbanna, beautiful and enchanting, is situated in the southern most tip of Yunnan on the borders of Myanmar and Laos.

DAY 08 / JINGHONG (B, L, D)

On your city tour, visit the natural forest of Manting Park with the ancient Manting Temple in the middle, the White Pagoda and the Octagonal Pavilion and the folk culture villages whose people are fond of singing and dancing where there exist wild Asian elephants, lovely peacocks, rare flowers and plants, fruits, delicious food and exotic customs

DAY 09 / JINGHONG/KUNMING (B, L, D)

Travel to Ganlanba by car (1 hr) to visit the Ganlanba Dai Minority Village, the botanical garden and Jinuo Mountain village. Fly back to Kunming.

DAY 10 / KUNMING DEPARTURE (B)

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
