TRADITION AND DISTINCTION

 

1DINNER WITH THE CHILD EMPEROR

The splendor of the Forbidden City - Secluded from the rest of Peking provides a wonderful setting. As guests enter the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel, crossing the Bridge of Heavenly Peace, they are greeted by the CHILD EMPEROR - the host of the event.

Guards of the Palace, dressed in Qing Dynasty costumes pass around imperial cocktails and an abundance of delicacies on Ming plates are served whilst an eight piece Chinese orchestra plays light Oriental music.

once the imposing gongs are sounded, guests are shown to tables dressed with Qing Dynasty porcelain with a miniature rock-garden, providing an added touch, as the centre piece at every table, "Eunuchs" stand gaurd during the imperial feast- which is marched in on a sedan chair, accompanied by Palace Guard Warriors.

Jugglers, Qi Gong artists and musical artists provide light entertainment during the evening.

BEIJING FOOD STREET

Here Beijing comes alive with a colorful display of talented artists that are eager to show off their skills in cobblestone carvings, dough sculpturing, kite-making, fortune telling and calligraphy. Guests may also have their photographs taken whilst dressed up in magnificient Qing Dynasty Costumes.

Guests strolling amongst the display, sipping delicious cocktails, will also be surrounded by stalls serving tasty foods like Roast Peking Duck, Shashlik and traditional Chinese dumplings and buns. There is also a Master Chef demonstrating the tradition of Dan Dan Noodle making.

The atmosphere is further enhanced by entertainment in the form of acrobatics and magicians whilst a Chinese orchestra plays soft tnes. The evening is later concluded by a lion dance performance accompanied by the traditional gongs and drums.


THE SILK ROAD

This is an authentic Tang Dynasty atmosphere with scenery from the Silk Road - created in the hotel's Grand Ballroom, Service staff are dressed in period costumes and impressive 2 metre high glazed pottery camels are located in front of the landscape area.

A traditional Chinese food street with a sumptious display of delectable food from different parts of China together with special Chinese wines are for guests to enjoy as well as a range of magnificient handicrafts, fortune telling and Tang Dynasty dance performance. the Silk Road is flourishing once again.
