The great wall.

Without doubt, the greatest attractions in the capital of China are the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. However, many other historical sights with powerful beauty and intriguing past, are worth a visit. The 50 museums portray magnificent in-sights into the lives and cultures of a bygone era and the art galleries exhibit modern day reality of today.

Hand made silk and woollen carpets, cloisonne, inexpensive fresh-water pearls and cashmere fabrics are all in abundance and often at flexible prices.

Beijing is also a gourmet's delight. The ever popular "home style" cooking of Dumplings and the traditional Hot Pot rank amongst favourites by locals and tourists alike as does the internationally acclaimed Peking Duck. After dinner there is still plenty to see and do, Peking Opera and acrobatic show are traditional choices. However, tea-houses provide a fascinating insight to a tradition far removed from western culture.
